ADU / JADU

Accessory units can be built in multiple ways:

GARAGE CONVERSION

Any existing garage in single-family houses or apartments can be converted to ADU or JADU.

GENERAL CONVERSION

Any habitable space in a house or apartment that is accessible can be converted to ADU or JADU. Spaces like recreation rooms, gyms, etc.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

 If the zoning density allows, new ADU and JADU can be built on the lot. For single-family houses, the unit can be attached or detached from the main house. For apartments, the ADU/JADU has to be detached to comply with the code.
